Police Investigate Shooting in East Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – Two people are hospitalized Saturday morning after a late night shooting in East Jackson. Investigators said the 24-year-old driver of a white van is one of the victims. He suffered a single gunshot, and at last report was in critical condition. Witnesses told officers he was driving past a group of men in the parking lot of East Pointe Apartments on Daugherty Street just after 11 Friday night, when they opened fire. A 29-year-old woman inside one of the nearby apartments was hit. She was last listed in stable condition. Bullets were recovered in four of the apartments. Three other cars were also hit. No arrests have been made, but police have released descriptions of the suspects. According to police, the suspects were described as three black men. One had a short hair cut and was wearing an orange and blue, plaid, buttoned shirt. Officers said the second suspect had dread-lock style hair and was wearing a black t-shirt. They also said the third suspect was only described as wearing a light-colored baseball cap with an orange bill.
