$2 Million Winning Ticket Sold in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – A Powerball ticket sold in Jackson is a $2 million dollar winner. Lottery officials said the winning ticket was sold at the Zain BP in the 2200 block of Hollywood Drive. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The winner has yet to claim the prize. The winning ticket matched five numbers drawn in the Powerball drawing, which is a guaranteed million-dollar prize. However, the player added the Power Play option for an extra dollar so the prize is increased to $2 million. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News spoke with many people who said they cannot believe it was sold in Jackson and wish they were the lucky ticket holder. “Oh, I wish it was me. $2 million is a lot of money. You never hear of that in Jackson,” said Liz Mainoo, who lives in Jackson. “I never play the lottery, but I think I might start playing now,” said Brandon Thomas, who also lives in Jackson. “I would like to tell all my Jackson friends if you want to better your life come to my store play the lottery and you can win too.” said store owner Yesh Lakhani.
