Fatal Wreck in Crockett County

ALAMO, Tenn. – A late night, single car wreck in Crockett County killed one person and left another injured. Tennessee Highway Patrol said a Pontiac GTO was driving southbound on Crossroads road near Highway 412 when it went over the crest of a hill and the driver lost control. Officials said the car then veered off the road and traveled down a dirt embankment where it struck several trees and caused the vehicle to overturn numerous times, eventually coming to rest upside down. 26-year-old Michael Dortha of Bells was killed, and 20-year-old Deondre Taylor of Bartlett was injured. Officials believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash and a toxicology test was requested to confirm that.
