School Board Discusses Superintendent Transition

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Jackson-Madison County School Board held a retreat, Monday evening, focusing on incoming Superintendent Verna Ruffin. Nothing was officially voted on in the Q and A-style meeting. But Doctor Ruffin said it gives both her and the school board a chance to understand some of the changes for the upcoming year, and it gives her an opportunity to connect with the people. “I think it’s important to hear from people to really pay attention to have the deliberate time when you are really listening to what people are saying,” said Dr. Verna Ruffin, incoming superintendent for the Jackson-Madison County School System. Doctor Ruffin officially begins her position July 1.
