JEA Adding Transmission Lines in Midtown Area

JACKSON, Tenn.- You probably have noticed the new utility poles and power lines being put in place in midtown Jackson. The Jackson Energy Authority said the installation of higher power transmission lines will eventually lead to the building a new substation to power midtown and the medical center. The extra power infrastructure is needed for the growth in the area that includes the Kirkland Cancer Center, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital’s new tower and additional medical offices and clinics in the area. Officials said the building of the new substation is still a couple of years away.
