Expensive Farming Equipment Stolen in McNairy County

ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. – When Jai Templeton arrived to pick up his mower and tractor, both were missing. “It makes things a little more challenging to go through the year to try and remain profitable,” said the theft victim. Templeton is missing a blue 2002 New Holland TM 125 tractor with the serial number 178522, along with a Rhino boom rotary mower with model number SU2160. Investigators believe they know when the equipment was stolen, but weather and the location have made clues hard to come by. “It seemed to us that it did rain on Monday night,” said Templeton. “And by looking at the tracks, or lack of, we feel it was probably taken somewhere between Sunday night and Monday night.” “On the road where it was on, there would have been very little traffic during the early morning hours or late at night,” said neighbor Fred Carroll. “There would’ve been not much traffic, so it may have been done without anyone seeing.” Templeton said that losing these two pieces of equipment will indeed hurt his work operations. But what is most troubling to him is the fact that the thieves would come into the fields and steal his personal property. “The fact is, it was my property and it does not belong to whoever has it in their possession at this time, and I want it back,” said Templeton. “And if that’s not the way this works out, then certainly it’s something, and these two pieces I will have to replace on my own accord.” To replace both, it will cost him an estimated $119,000. Templeton is offering a $6,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of his equipment. If you have any information, call the McNairy County Sheriff’s Department at (731)-645-1004.
