Generals Outfielder Morban Named “Hitter of the Week”

JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson Generals’ outfielder Julio Morban was named the Southern Leagues’ Hitter of the Week, Monday. Stats show Morban, 21, of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, batted .400, with three doubles, a home run, nine RBI and six runs scored during the opening series of the second half against Mobile. Morbon homered, doubled twice and posted a career high five RBI in Saturday‘s 10-5 win over the BayBears at The Ballpark at Jackson. So far this season, Morban leads the league in batting with a .328 average. This is the first Hitter of the Week selection for a Generals player since Brad Miller was selected the first week of the season.
