Henderson Woman Killed in MS Crash

BENTON COUNTY, Miss.- A West Tennessee woman is dead and her two children injured, following a traffic crash on Highway 72 in Benton County, Mississippi. A spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol said Erica Hendershot, 30, of Henderson, was driving north on Highway 72 in a SUV when she pulled into the path of a pickup driven by a South Carolina man, Monday afternoon. Investigators said the elderly couple in the second car was taken to The Med in Memphis with moderate injuries, but are expected to recover. Hendershot died at the scene of the accident. Her 10-year old son and seven-year-old daughter were airlifted to Lebonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
