JMC School Board Approves Revised Budget

JACKSON, Tenn.-The Jackson-Madison County School Board has approved a budget for the upcoming fiscal year, even if it did not include everything they wanted. The first reading of the budget included a $900,000 for technology, however, the county commission, took it out. So, the school board had to make adjustments and voted again late this afternoon. Even though they passed the budget, the board said it hopes the commission come around in the future. “We are certainly going to request another meeting with the commissioners we are going to present a very comprehensive plan,” said Dr. Verna Ruffin, superintendent of Jackson-Madison County Schools. The school board said the money would have been used to buy 2,600 new computers.
