JACKSON, Tenn.- Staying fit in downtown Jackson is now a little easier, thanks to an outdoor fitness trail. The mile and a half long trail has seven pieces of exercise equipment staggered throughout downtown. Those who work and live in downtown said the route was a long time coming. Those who put it all together said, whether you are taking a stroll through downtown, or using strength equipment throughout the route, options will be there for your fitness, and you will be able to stay outside while you work out. “For those people who work here, 8 to 10 hours a day, many of them get time off for lunch which they can come over and walk the mile and a half, do their exercises and get back to work,” said Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist. Those using the trail, say there is no time restraint. You can make your way early in the morning, on your lunch break, or even after work.
