Teen Shooting Suspect Surrenders to Police

JACKSON, Tenn.-Jackson police confirmed to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News their 16-year-old shooting suspect, wanted since Sunday has surrendered. Officers said he turned himself in at the Juvenile Detention Center around 5:45 p.m. The teen faces two counts of attempted first degree murder in the Sunday morning shooting in Allenton Heights. The16-year-old victim is still hospitalized in serious condition after he was shot several times. A 22-year-old man walking with him suffered a graze wound to the hand. Police have not said what prompted the gunfire, but said the two teens knew one another. The suspect will likely make his first appearance before the juvenile court judge, Thursday.
