Crash at Ashport Road and 45 Bypass Leaves One Woman Dead

JACKSON, Tenn. – One woman is dead after a accident on Ashport Road and the 45 Bypass. The victim, Barbara Thompson of Milan, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to Jackson Police, a 2006 Lincoln Town Car hit the back of her Toyota Matrix around 7:00 a.m. while waiting for the light to turn green. Police confirm Thompson was not wearing a seat belt. There were no indicators of drugs or alcohol. The driver of the Lincoln Town Car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
