JACKSON, Tenn.- For the first time ever, there will be tutoring for children inside Lincoln Courts Community Center. More than 40 children attended Monday night’s first tutoring session. Help is available for children from kindergarten through 12th grade, but are only available to students who live in Lincoln Courts. The sessions will be held every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Organizers said this one-on-one time will help give students an extra boost. “When you give children the resources and skills they need up front, then they able to succeed. We do not want to set these children up for failure. We want them to have every opportunity that they can to be successful,” said Monique Merriweather, a tutor with the program. This is a volunteer led effort with many of the tutors actual educators in the jackson-madison county school system.
