HUMBOLDT, Tenn — Pamela Chandler says she’s in shock after a man reportedly drove through her yard Sunday night shortly before five o’clock. According to Chandler, the man was chasing a half-naked woman, plowed through two yards and nearly pinned the woman against her brother’s house next door. “She was frantic,’ Chandler said. “She was running back and forth trying to hold her bra on. She had no top on. She was zig zagging back and forth to dodge the car and he was going as fast as he could” Three 9-11 calls came in as well as calls to the Humboldt Police Department. Assistant Humboldt Police Chief Bill Baker said, “Our office received a call that there was a car chasing a woman down 18th Avenue and an officer located the car on 17th Avenue talked to the occupants who indicated everything was OK.” The Humboldt Police Department said they are still looking into this report and if they find any criminal activity they will file charges. “We take all reports of any crime seriously and investigate them fully,” Baker said. Chandler says she is surprised no charges were filed and says this is the latest incident in a neighborhood where crime has become all to familiar and neighbors frightened. “They are worried to the point where they won’t speak out about it,” Chandler said. “They run inside. They are scared nothing will be done and somebody will come do something to them.”
