County Commissioner Appoints New School Board Member

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Madison County Commission voted Monday night to fill a spot on the Jackson-Madison County School Board left by Maria Mitchell. In a vote of 18-5, the commission chose Dave Bratcher over Nicki Phillips. Bratcher is no stranger to the board. He was elected to serve as the reprsentative of District Five in 2008.However, he left the board a year later to take a job out of town. Bratcher said it is good to be back home. “I look forward to coming along side those who have been serving since I have been gone and get back in the saddle and do all that we can to move education forward in this county,” said Dave Bratcher, newly named school board member. Bratcher was a graduate of Jackson Central-Merry High School. and will once again represent District Five on the board.
