Man shot by police in Sullivan County dies
BLUFF CITY, Tenn. (AP) – A man who police say struck two officers with a car has died after being shot by police.
The Kingsport Times-News (http://bit.ly/1dkJOA9 ) reported that the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said Monday the man died at an area hospital after the incident Sunday night and the TBI is investigating the officer-involved shooting, which is standard procedure.
A news conference was scheduled for Monday afternoon at which more information could be released. The names of the man who was shot and the officers involved were not immediately released.
The incident occurred at a crash scene and a deputy was pinned between the suspect’s car and another one.
A county deputy and a Bluff City officer were involved.
