Early Voting in Lexington Municipal Election Underway

LEXINGTON, Tenn.- Early voting is underway for September’s city of Lexington municipal election. Voters will chose a mayor, three alderman and four school board members. In the mayoral race, David Jowers is challenging Tim Pierce. Election officials said so far early voting has had a slow start, but they believe the races will be close. “When you have a mayor that’s been mayor for the past and incumbent mayor, I do think it’s going to be an interesting race so yeah, it’s going to be interesting,” Dan Miller, Henderson County Administrator of Elections. “I couldn’t tell ya who will win now, that’s for sure,” said The election commission office is open Monday , Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m.to 4 p.m, and Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, August 31 and September 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Election day in Lexington is September 12.
