Families Devastated After Crash Kills Two Men

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.- The Madison County Sheriff’s office is continuing their investigation into a vehicle crash that killed two young men on Old Pinson Road, early Monday morning. Deputies said their investigation revealed that the driver of a 2002 Buick Regal was traveling southbound on Old Pinson Road just after midnight. Investigators said the driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off of the road then hit a tree and utility pole. Officials said the vehicle caught fire on impact and trapped both the driver and passenger inside. Some neighbors on the scene said they tried to rescue the two young men, but it was too late. “It sounded like a shot gun going off, I immediately looked out the window and all I could see was a little fire,” said neighbor Jerry Spellings. The driver has been identified as Joseph B. Dudley, 22. Authorities identified the passenger as Adam R. Parker, 23. Deputies said both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. “I can’t say enough about them I’ve known them both since they were boys and both of them were hard workers and good kids,” said friend Lonnie Crow. Crow offered advice for anyone traveling down the road. “If you’re coming down here at night and you just look off or something I can see how it could happen, it could happen it to me.” Loved ones told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that Dudley was a loving father who was crazy about his two-year-old son. Friends said the two victims have been best friends for years. “He was a good dad trying to as much as he could that was right for his son that was his main concern,” said Crow. Neighbors said the curve near the tree where the wreck happened, has had many wrecks over the past few years. Some residents said they would like to see a warning sign put up near the curve. Deputies said both speed and alcohol were believed to be the contributing factors to the wreck. “I’m in shock because they just weren’t known for that neither one of them,” said Crow. “I’d tell any mother and father when their child leaves the house make sure they tell them they love them because you don’t know if it’s going to be the last time or not.”
