Man Sentenced For Manslaughter in 2012 Bar Brawl

JACKSON, Tenn.–A Jackson man has been sentenced for his involvement in the beating death of a man who was killed during a June 2012 bar altercation. Travis Holliday, 33, pled guilty last week for his involvement in the beating death of Kenneth Brasher, 45. Holliday was sentenced to four years in prison for voluntary manslaughter. He will remain in custody at the Madison County Jail pending transfer to the Tennessee Department of Correction. Around 12:30 a.m. on June 17, 2012, Jackson police were called about an assault at Breaker’s Billiards. Brasher was found lying on the floor inside the business. He was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and was later pronounced dead from blunt force trauma. The investigation indicated that Brasher was struck in the head with a bar stool following an altercation. Investigators developed Holliday as a suspect. He surrendered around 5 p.m. on the day of the murder. This case remains under investigation as police do not believe that Holliday was the only person involved.
