Local NAACP Leader Arrested in Washington, D.C. During Protest

WASHINGTON, DC. — When women from around the country protested what they called inaction on immigration reform, today in Washington, West Tennesseans were among them. Tennessee NAACP President Gloria Sweet-Love of Brownsville was among the around 100 women who were arrested this morning after blocking the intersection outside the House of Representatives. Also among the group were about 25 women who are undocumented immigrants. They are pushing for a comprehensive immigration bill that treats women and children fairly.
