Man wanted in cornfield slaying captured

COWAN, Tenn. (AP) – The fourth suspect in the killing of a white supremacist group member in a Tennessee cornfield has been apprehended in New Mexico and is awaiting extradition.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press (http://bit.ly/1g4kPzt) cited a statement from Tennessee police that said 46-year-old David Gordon Jenkins was taken into custody Tuesday by officers with the Lea County, N.M., Drug Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Service in Roswell.

He was being sought in the March beating death of Corey N. Matthews. Three others were taken into custody shortly after the slaying.

Authorities have said Matthews was targeted by other members of the Aryan Nations in a dispute about the group’s beliefs.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Jenkins had an attorney.
