New Madison Co. Fire Station Opens

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.- Residents of West Madison County now will have improved fire protection thanks to a new fire station. Thursday, Madison County fire officials showed off the new station, located at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport. The facility cost slightly more than $500,000 and will offer added fire protection and better response time as well as serving as a training facility. “Well, we had kind of outgrown the building we had before. Our maintenance area was really too small for some of our trucks we have now, just an area to store parts and so forth. We just, we had run out of space,” said Madison County Fire Chief Eric Turner. There are 18 fire stations located across the county.
