Humboldt Warehouse Fire Quickly Extinguished

HUMBOLDT, Tenn.-An empty warehouse in Humboldt catches fire, but a bystander called for help before the blaze gets out of hand. Humboldt firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly at a warehouse on Mitchell Street. It sparked just after 3 p.m., Tuesday. The property owner said welders were in the building prepping for future construction. He said they left at 2 p.m., but their equipment may have lead to the fire. “This is an old structure and that wood that is there is good, old and dry, so it could have turned into a bad situation, quick if the fire department had not responded as quick as they did,” building owner Robert Brown said. The property owner said construction will begin Wednesday morning to turn the warehouse into a community center.
