Man in Possession of $5,000 in Drugs Arrested

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man who was in possession of more than $5,000 worth of drugs was arrested Monday during a narcotics warrant search. Christopher J. Simpson, age 37, of 194 Pierce Road in Madison County was at the residence at the time of the search and was taken into custody after officers found approximately an ounce of Crack Cocaine, 3/4-ounce of Powder Cocaine, 12-ounces of Marijuana, five 5mg Oxycodone pills, a .22 caliber handgun, a digital scale with drug residue on it and drug packaging materials. The drugs seized from this search warrant have an estimated street value $5,100. Four vehicles, $2,367 and numerous items of electronic equipment believed to be the proceeds of drug sales were seized under the civil forfeiture laws of the Tennessee Drug Control Act. Simpson was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Distribute, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell or Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in commission of a Dangerous Felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court and is being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
