Reinstated Officers Taking Steps to Return to Force

JACKSON, Tenn. — Two Jackson police officers that were reinstated after being fired in April are making strides to return back to the police force. The city human resources department tells WBBJ that physical and psych evaluations have been scheduled for Christopher Chilcote and Alan Randolph. The results are expected in this week, which means the two could be back on the street by October 15. The officers were fired six months ago after they were involved in a fender bender in February with a city bus. No one was hurt and the cruiser had minor damage. Officials said the officers were let go after failing to report and document the incident according to policy. Last week, the City’s Civil Service Commission overturned the firing decision.
