JACKSON, Tenn. – A former West Tennessee educator has entered a guilty plea to one count of receipt of child pornography. David Rohm is a former teacher at the University School of Jackson. Rohn was originally charged with six counts of child pornography. The rest of the counts are set to be dismissed at his sentencing January 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. In a 2008 story, Rohm stated that he had been teaching for 31 years overall and 20 years at USJ. At that time, he stated he served as an assistant for the athletic department and had taught chemistry, algebra and computer classes during his time as an educator. Rohm’s indictment stated that the alleged incidents occurred between August 2008 and September 2012. Authorities reported finding pornographic videos of children on a DVD and on a computer in Rohm’s home. The University School of Jackson Head of School Clay Liliestern said that the school became aware of allegations against David Rohm on September 27, 2012. Law enforcement informed them that Rohm had been found in possession of material at his home that constituted a criminal offense. Rohm was terminated from his position with the school that same day.
