46th Annual Davy Crockett Days In Full Swing

RUTHERFORD, Tenn. — The 46th Annual Davy Crockett Days is in full swing in Rutherford and will continue through Saturday, October 12, 2013.
The Davy Crockett Cabin Museum will be open all week at no charge, but donations are always appreciated. This festival honors the memory of Colonel Davy Crockett, who lived in Rutherford from 1822 until the fall of 1835.
“He was a person who started with nothing, never really gained a lot of material wealth but stood up for what he believed,” Joe Bone said, a volunteer curator at the Davy Crockett Cabin.
There will be historical displays downtown all week with special sales at local businesses.
