Security Guards Injured in Bar Fight

JACKSON, Tenn. – An arrest has been made after two security guards were attacked by a mob of nearly 30 people this weekend, while they tried to break up a fight. Jackson Police say two bouncers at The Palace were surrounded, bitten, and punched in the fight. According to officers, the two guards tried to remove a man who was yelling at another woman. The man then fought back and bit one of the bouncers. The guards told police on the scene that dozens of people surrounded them trying to pull them away from the man. They say there were hit by several people and were left with minor cuts and bruises. “It’s good to know that they would protect you in that situation, but it also makes you question how much are you protected when someone will attack them,” said Veronica Sesson. Residents say security guards need more protection “They’re just trying to do their job,” Sesson said. “It’s a very dangerous situation it’s a dangerous job and a sad situation.” Jackson Police say one person was arrested in the fight but they have not released his name. According to the Palace’s owner, both guards are doing well after the fight.
