NY police mum on Tenn. arrest in murder probe

MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) – Suburban New York police were not immediately commenting on the arrest of a man in Tennessee wanted for questioning in the shooting death of a well-known equestrian from eastern Long Island.

The U.S. Marshals’ office in Knoxville, Tenn., says Brett Knight was arrested in Seymour, Tenn., on Tuesday.

Two handguns were recovered.

Knight is wanted for questioning in the Sept. 24 shooting death of Ross Reisner. The well-known equestrian was shot inside his home. His partner, Kevin Murray, was wounded. It was not known if he has an attorney.

Suffolk County police did not immediately comment.

The marshals’ release says Knight was traveling around the country on a motorcycle.

A spokeswoman for the Sevier County sheriff says Knight signed an extradition waiver Wednesday and would be returned to New York.
