National Exchange Club Chartered

EAST JACKSON, Tenn. — The National Exchange Club is pleased to welcome the Madison Academic Magnet High School Excel Club as its newest club. Known as America’s Service Club, Exchange is proud to announce this high school club as a promising addition to its premier group of more than 650 clubs and nearly 20,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Exchange clubs across the country are dedicated to serving their communities through members who promote three Programs of Service – Americanism, Youth Programs and Community Projects, as well as its National Project, the prevention of child abuse. Excel Clubs, just like their adult counterparts, are groups of high school students dedicated to improving their schools, communities and country through volunteerism and by focusing on Exchange’s four programs of service. The Excel Club at Madison Academic Magnet High School will work alongside its founding club, the Jackson Exchange Club. National, state and local exchange club representatives were on hand to welcome these students into the Exchange Club family. Local exchangite and Excel Club Committee Chair Judy Renshaw states, “These young people are already making a difference in our community and for our local child abuse prevention efforts. We look forward to partnering with them and cultivating a spirit of servant leadership in their high school career and beyond.” Activities that members can expect to participate in include conducting child abuse prevention awareness campaigns, organizing school clean-up days and participating in crime prevention and Americanism projects. In addition to these national programs of service, clubs select their own projects based on the needs of their school and community. “It is refreshing to see young people with a passion to think beyond their own lives and focus on serving Jackson and the needs of the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse,” Tennessee District President Chris Ramey said.
