VFW To Sell Land to Jackson

NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. — Members of a North Jackson VFW post voted Saturday to sell land to the city of Jackson land needed for a new recreational facility. VFW Jackson TN Cocks-Danuiels approved the land be sold to Jackson. The land would be used as an access point for a new tennis facility, which will be located on part of the Old Highland Green Golf Course property. The vote passed 14-4 at the Saturday morning meeting. The Jackson City Council passed measures to purchase 20 acres of the Old Highland Green Golf Course for $200,000 and 3.4 acres from the VFW for $46,000 to build a new tennis complex in the northern part of the city on October 1.
