JACKSON, Tenn.- Investigating claims against Sheriff David Woolfork was taken up by the Madison County commissioners. After just more than half an hour into Monday night’s regularly scheduled meeting, the commission went into executive session. It lasted about 40 minutes and the media was not allowed. During that time, the mayor, county attorney, the commission chair and vice chair okayed spending up to $10,000 for a Nashville attorney to investigate claims by Deputy Sharon Sangster that she was sexually harassed by Sheriff Woolfork. “We wanted to get the process started as soon as possible so that it can be done in a timely expedient manner that is the best thing for everybody concerned,” said Steve Maroney, Madison County attorney. Maroney said the investigation will be handled by Dickinson-Wright Law Firm and should be wrapped up in a few weeks.
