MILAN, Tenn. — Hunters and farmers throughout West Tennessee met at the National Guard Armory in Milan for hunters sharing the harvest on Tuesday. As part of the effort, a successful hunter will take the recently harvested deer meat and have it processed. The meat is then donated to those that are hungry and cannot otherwise afford high quality meat. Organizers of the event, now in its fifth year, said they are just excited to help those in need. “This is a way for the people who can’t afford the meat to get some high quality meat that’s high in protein and low in fat and they get it for free,” Merle Cash said, organizer of the event.
