MARTIN, Tenn. – Martin Police took more than 140 pounds of prescription drugs off the streets Saturday. This drug take-back program was the seventh event in three years in Downtown Martin, where residents could drop off unwanted or expired medication for officers to properly dispose of. Martin Police said they are working with the Drug Enforcement Administration and Van’s Pharmacy to stop prescription pill abuse and theft by getting the potentially dangerous drugs out of homes.
