TSU adds new biotechnology program
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee State University’s College of Agriculture is adding a new program in biotechnology.
The university received approval from the state Board of Regents to begin offering the concentration within a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences.
School officials say the new program will train students in the modern field of biotechnology using the latest gene sequencers and other state-of-the-art equipment.
Career opportunities in that field include biomedical engineering, epidemiology, forensic DNA analysis and microbiology.
