SOUTH JACKSON — A violent crash Monday morning off South Highland Avenue sends to women to the hospital and witnesses running to help. Two cars collided then flew into a nearby parking lot. One hit the old Long John Silver’s building and the other hit the old sign. “I panicked. I got out of my car on break.. I only had one shoe on..she stopped me and said don’t run,” Kerri Gregory, who saw the accident happen, said. She and her coworker Jacklyn Sulock were across the street at Sonic and tried to help. “I called 911, like on that 911 show. I told them I wanted to report an accident then we went to make sure everyone is okay.” Both drivers were okay, but Gregory says the woman in the blue car, who hit the side of the building, was hurt. “The old woman had blood on her from the airbag and she couldn’t move.” According to her mother, the driver of the other car suffered a concussion. Both women were taken by ambulance but are expected to be okay. Sulock says they’re just glad she and Gregory were able to help. “I hoped no body was hurt and we ran over there and every body’s okay” Investigators are now trying to determine who was at fault for the crash.
