JPD Turns Over Woolfork Investigation to Shelby County

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Jackson Police Department Jackson turned over its Woolfork investigation to Shelby County D.A., Wednesday. JPD submitted the investigative case file for the Oct. 10 domestic abuse incident concerning Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork to the office of District Attorney General Amy Weirich, Shelby County D. A. General Weirich’s Office will now determine what, if any, criminal charges apply. At approximately 8:30 p.m. Oct. 10, Jackson police responded to a disturbance call at 52 Edenwood Drive Jackson, Tennessee. Officers identified two individuals at this residence being Sheriff Woolfork and Sharon Sangster. Separate interviews were conducted with both parties. Based upon the interviews, officers determined that this was a domestic abuse related incident. After an on-scene investigation, officers were unable to determine a primary aggressor as required by the domestic abuse statute. Officers advised Ms. Sangster of departmental procedures as they relate to victims of reported domestic abuse.
