JACKSON, Tenn.- State report cards are in and the Jackson-Madison County School District did not fare very well. Madison County finished below the state average. In math, the system received a C, in reading a D, which was unchanged from last year, a C+ in social studies and a d in science, which was also unchanged from last year. Jackson-Madison County Superintendent Dr. Verna Ruffin said she was disappointed, but optimistic. “We have lots of room to grow and to improve. I am pleased that we have shown some gains but we are not pleased with the current status because there is always room for improvement,” said Jackson-Madison County School Superintendent Dr. Verna Ruffin.
