DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Jackson police have charged Samuel Bobo, 23, with aggravated assault for shooting into an occupied house at 122 Farris Street. Around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, police received a shots fired call on Farris Street. Officers determined that shots were fired into the house. Investigators learned that Bobo, who is a Lane College student, had a fight with another student at the college earlier Wednesday. Bobo later went to the student’s Farris Street home, beat on the door and told him to come outside. When the man didn’t come out, Bobo fired shots into the front door while standing on the porch. The man who Bobo had fought with was inside the house at the time. Bobo was arrested around noon today at his home at 175 Taylor Street. Police searched the home and found handgun ammunition, an assault rifle and a shotgun. The handgun ammunition from Bobo’s home matched shell casings recovered on Farris Street. Bobo has roommates and the investigation is ongoing to determine the owners of the guns. Bobo is currently being held at the Madison County Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned via video link at 8 a.m. Friday in Jackson City Court.
