ETSU president hospitalized after wreck
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) – East Tennessee State University says its president, Brian Noland, is hospitalized in stable condition after his vehicle collided with a truck.
ETSU Chief of Staff Jane Jones said Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for Health Affairs Wilsie Bishop was stepping in to take over administrative responsibilities while Noland recuperates from Monday’s wreck in Johnson City.
University spokesman Joe Smith said Noland had been in contact with some employees and was in good spirits.
The Johnson City Press reported police said a truck ran a red light and collided with Noland’s sport-utility vehicle. The driver of the truck, Jackie L. White of Johnson City, was cited with a red light violation.
