BREAKING: JPD Investigates Homicide

EAST JACKSON — Police say a middle age man was found beaten to death in a home in the 100 block of Second Street around 7 p.m. Police say John Wesley Williams, 53, is the victim of the beating. The property owner believed Williams was living in the vacant house. Investigators and an assistant medical examiner were summoned to the scene. The preliminary cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries. A person of interest is being questioned. Williams’ body was sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville for autopsy. Stay tuned to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness news for the latest.
