Obion County Deputy Involved in Fiery Crash

OBION COUNTY — An Obion County deputy was taken to the hospital after his patrol car crashed with a semi and caught fire. According to the sheriff’s department, a deputy was responding to an emergency and tried to avoid a stopped car at the intersection of Highway 22 and Flippin Lane. Both the semi and the patrol car caught fire, officials say the drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from a local hospital. The Tennessee highway patrol is investigating the crash.
