I-40 Challenge Update

JACKSON, Tenn.- The results are in as the Tennessee Highway Patrol released numbers from the state’s initiative to have a state trooper every 20 miles along Interstate 40 over the Thanksgiving holiday. Tennessee partnered with all the states that I-40 runs through for the goal of having zero fatalities. According to THP there were more than 1,800 total speeding violations. And 768 total for safety belt law for people 18 and older. According to the tennessee.gov, this time last year there were 938 traffic fatalities. So far this year there have been 918.
