Lunsford Jury Deliberation Postponed until Monday

JACKSON,Tenn.- The jury will not begin deliberating the fate of former Henderson County Sheriff Ricky Lunsford until Monday. Closing arguments were held Friday morning. The judge later sent them due to the icy weather. Along with the attempted first degree murder charge, Lunsford also faces counts of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and using a gun to a commit a felony. In closing arguments the state called Lunsford’s defense “wild and unbelievable.” The former lawman’s attorney said he acted in self defense and suffered from post traumatic distress syndrome after working as a contract officer in the Middle East.
