JACKSON, Tenn.- After fear that the icy conditions would force Area Relief Ministries’ “Room in the Inn” emergency shelter to shut down, there is some good news. The director said one of its churches has agreed to host the men all weekend, while other churches and local businesses will help out. They nightly shelter has enough room for 30 men, but said they will do what they can to make sure no one is turned away. Participants must check in at the Area Relief Ministries offices along South Church Street at 4 p.m. They will then be driven to the church and will be encouraged to stay at the church throughout the day. This weekend Backyard Bar-B-Q, Latham’s Meat Company and Food Giant are providing food for the shelter guests.
