Cost of Sheriff Woolfork Sexual Harassment Investigation Released

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — WBBJ has obtained the documents that tell us how much the independent investigation into claims of sexual harassment against Sheriff David Woolfork is going to cost Madison County. The final total is $31,553.36, which is $1,553.36 over the approved $30,000 budget. The commission had approved $30,000 for the investigation. The additional money will have to get their approval before the total amount is paid out. The attorney, Jeff Beemer of Dickinson Wright law firm out of Nashville, billed the counter for 91.6 hours at a rate of $310 per hour. In addition to this, a paralegal was paid $125 an hour for the 14.4 hours worked. The two amassed more than $1,300 in travel, telephone and copying expenses.
