JACKSON, Tenn. — There is one wish for children in West Tennessee this Christmas season, which is for Santa Claus to come. One group of kids really hope Ole Saint Nick comes to Jackson and will not forget about them in the city. “It’s all about how Santa comes to Jackson and how you really want him to come,” said London Tubbs, singer. The song started out as a marketing project for the U of M at Lambuth students, “Santa, Come to Jackson” turned out to be much more. The song is now featured on local radio stations. Dr. Jeremy Tubbs who is the producer said that the song really took off on its own. It started off as a fun song which was written by his wife then before they knew it the EMI Kids Choir got involved and now it is a catchy song that is hard to get out of your head. Dr. Tubbs son, Liam believes that no matter what, when it is Christmas, that everyone should get something from Santa, whether it is toys or just time with family. “He’s (Santa) coming to Jackson to put all the toys underneath their tree even if they’ve been naughty, he would still put them under the tree.” Dr. Tubbs explained that the song started off as a joke and a childish thought that some may have encountered. Which was the thought that the entire time we are preparing for Christmas that Santa Claus would accidentally skip town. The video captures Jackson and all that the Hub City has to feature. “It goes to that very simple basic truth, ya know, that we believe and we hope the spirit of Christmas is alive and well in this small little big town we have,” said Dr. Jeremy Tubbs.
