HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The two mayoral candidates involved in Tuesday’s runoffs are gearing up for the election. The Nov. 5 election resulted in a runoff between Thomas “Redd” Porter and Marvin Sikes. Both candidates were out Monday doing some last minute campaigning. “I’ve looked at the history of mayors in this town and I just believe that I probably could make the hard decisions, the strong decisions that need to be made,” Thomas “Redd” Porter said. “I have been a public servant of this city for over 30 years, I’ve been out there on the streets in the trenches, I know the people,” Marvin Sikes said. In addition to the mayoral runoff, there are two Alderman races scheduled for Tuesday. In Ward 3, voters have a choice between Billy W. Alexander and Don Graves. WBBJ will have the results on Tuesday.
