Gibson County Chase Ends in Fugitive Arrest

BRADFORD, Tenn. – A high speed chase that included the exchange of gunfire ended with the arrest of a wanted man, Monday night. According to Bradford Assistant Police Chief Dave Chaffin, James Shull, 41, had been on the run for months. Chaffin said Bradford police first tried to arrest him in the summer for a parole violation. He was able to elude police until Monday night. Chaffin said a Bradford officer caught up with Shull near Milan and chased him into the Bradford area. During the chase, that lasted several minutes, Chaffin said Shull exchanged shots with officers and swerved into oncoming traffic a number of times. No injuries were reported. The chase ended in a field where Shull was taken into custody. Limited details about Shull’s criminal history and current charges have been released.
