Gibson County Residents Vote in Runoff Election

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A steady stream of voters made their way to the polls, Tuesday. At the voting location at Bailey Park, poll workers said they’ve seen a good turnout today. Voters are not only choosing a new mayor for the city, but are deciding a close race in the hunt for the Ward 3 Alderman seat. “I want someone conservative, someone who wants to build this city back to what is used to be,” voter Richard Neal said. “Continue the tradition of Humboldt being a small town, keeping our identity not just a suburb of Jackson but that we’re a great town in our own right,” voter Jennifer Seals said. Thomas “Redd” Porter and Marvin Sikes are the two candidates in the race for mayor. Billy Alexander and Don Graves are in the runoff for alderman ward 3.
